  1. Wash the oranges thoroughly. Peel them, trying to keep the peels in large pieces.
  2. Place the peels in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Cook forĀ 8 minutesĀ to reduce the bitterness.
  3. Drain the peels and immediately cool them in cold water.
  4. Cut the peels intoĀ thin stripsĀ .
  5. Place the peels in a saucepan withĀ water, orange juice and sugarĀ .
  6. Bring to a light boil and cook forĀ 30 minutesĀ , stirring occasionally.
  7. Turn off the heat, cover with a lid and let it rest in the syrup forĀ 10 minutesĀ .
  8. Drain the peels well and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
  9. Let them dry at room temperature forĀ at least 1 hourĀ , until they are no longer sticky.
  10. Roll them in granulated sugar until completely covered.
