Try this upgrade:
- Add a few drops of dish soap to the baking soda paste
or - Use a damp dishwasher tablet and gently rub the glass (very effective, still mild)
What NOT to use 
Razor blades (easy to scratch)- Steel wool or scouring pads
- Oven cleaner on warm glass (can stain or crack)
Keep it clean longer
- Wipe the glass while the oven is slightly warm (not hot)
- Put a tray under messy dishes
- Quick vinegar wipe once a week = no buildup
