How to Effortlessly Remove Grease and Cooking Odors from Kitchen Cabinets

How to Do It

  1. Choose Your Oil:
    • Vegetable oil (like canola or sunflower) is affordable and effective.
    • Mineral oil is odorless and won’t go rancid.
    • Coconut oil adds a light, pleasant scent (use fractionated if you prefer it liquid at room temperature).
  2. Apply Sparingly:
Pour just a few drops onto a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth or cotton rag. You want the cloth slightly damp—not oily.
  3. Wipe Gently:
Work in small sections, wiping the cabinet surfaces in the direction of the wood grain (if applicable). The oil will loosen the grease, allowing it to lift away cleanly.
  4. Buff to a Shine:
After wiping, use a second dry microfiber cloth to buff the surface until it’s smooth and residue-free. No rinsing needed!
