Preparing the glass: the first step
To begin, discarded glass bottles are used. It is not necessary to keep them whole: the important thing is the fragments.
Carefully break the bottles into small pieces. If you have bottles of different colors, even better, as the variety of shades will create a more striking and artistic result. Even using just two colors, such as green and yellow, can achieve a very attractive visual effect.
Once broken, collect all the fragments with extreme care, as the edges can be very sharp.
Classification of the fragments
The next step is to separate the pieces according to their size.
- The small fragments will be used for filling and details.
- The larger fragments will be used as a structural base or visible layer.
This classification makes subsequent work easier and helps the final piece have a neater finish.
