Why do stains appear in the toilet?

Before cleaning, it’s important to understand the source of the problem:

  • Scale or limescale: appears as white or yellow spots due to minerals in hard water.
  • Rust: can form if the water contains iron or the pipes are old.
  • Bacteria and moisture: especially under the rim, where dirt accumulates and unpleasant odors are generated.

Removing these residues requires a product that dissolves minerals, reduces bacteria, and neutralizes odors.

Ingredients needed

  • 200 ml of white vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons of liquid dish soap
  • 10 drops of essential oil (optional, for example tea tree)
  • Absorbent paper or thick napkins

For additional cleaning:

  • Water
  • Extra vinegar for dilution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (oxygenated water)

Preparing the cleaning mixture

  1. Heat the vinegar to approximately 50°C (warm, not boiling).
    • Ventilate the room because the smell may be strong.
  2. Add the 3 tablespoons of detergent .
  3. If desired, add 10 drops of essential oil to enhance the antibacterial action and improve the aroma.
  4. Pour the mixture into a dispenser bottle or an easy-to-use container.
