Why do stains appear in the toilet?
Before cleaning, it’s important to understand the source of the problem:
- Scale or limescale: appears as white or yellow spots due to minerals in hard water.
- Rust: can form if the water contains iron or the pipes are old.
- Bacteria and moisture: especially under the rim, where dirt accumulates and unpleasant odors are generated.
Removing these residues requires a product that dissolves minerals, reduces bacteria, and neutralizes odors.
Ingredients needed
- 200 ml of white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons of liquid dish soap
- 10 drops of essential oil (optional, for example tea tree)
- Absorbent paper or thick napkins
For additional cleaning:
- Water
- Extra vinegar for dilution
- Hydrogen peroxide (oxygenated water)
Preparing the cleaning mixture
- Heat the vinegar to approximately 50°C (warm, not boiling).
- Ventilate the room because the smell may be strong.
- Add the 3 tablespoons of detergent .
- If desired, add 10 drops of essential oil to enhance the antibacterial action and improve the aroma.
- Pour the mixture into a dispenser bottle or an easy-to-use container.
