This method allows you to reuse leftover wax and create a stronger and longer-lasting candle.
Materials
- Steel sponge
- Copper tube (cut at the base forming small “legs” for support)
- Remnants of large candles
- Frying pan
- Medium heat-resistant glass container
Step by step
- Prepare the structure:
Thread the steel sponge through the copper tube. Make sure the tube has small openings or cuts at the bottom so it holds better inside the container. - Melt the wax:
Place the candle remnants in a pan and melt them over low heat. It is important not to overheat the wax to avoid risks. - Pour into the container:
Once liquid, carefully pour the wax into the glass container. - Insert the wick:
Place the tube with the steel wool in the center of the container before the wax solidifies. Hold firmly until it begins to harden. - Let cool:
Wait for the wax to harden completely. When it’s solid, your reusable candle will be ready to use.
The steel sponge acts as a conductor of the molten fuel, allowing for more consistent combustion.
